Tuning Services

Unlike many other ski rentals, our skis really are sharpened and waxed after EVERY use whether for a junior ski or a high-performance model. Take care of your skis the way we take care of ours! We offer custom ski tuning at our location 7 days a week. Bring in your skis or boards by 4 p.m., and you can pick them up any time after 8 a.m. the next morning!

Mountain Tune: $35
We give your skis or board a good once over and prep them for great performance.
• Sharpen edges and set to manufacturer specifications, (side & base bevel) or by customer request/ski techs advice
• Hot wax for appropriate temperature or by customer request
• Minor base work included

Black Diamond Tune: $45
This treatment is for skis and boards that need more attention to perform well. We will address defects in the base and imperfections.
• Ptex repairs
• Flatten bases
• Stone grind
• Structure bases to current snow conditions or at customer’s request/ski tech’s advice
• All services as listed in the Mountain Tune, (edge & wax)
• Major defects may be more, talk to one of our ski techs at the time of drop-off

Race Tune: $60
Get your skis or board in top condition and as fast as they will go! This is the winning edge.
• Sharpen edges and set to manufacturer specifications, (side & base bevel) or by customer request/ski techs advice
• Hand race wax for specific race time temps or by customers request
• Get bases smooth and fast

Ski or Board Storage: $10
Put your gear away right and ready for the next season.
• Storage wax
• Protect edges from corrosion
• Leave at Great American for secure storage and fall prep or take home to look to all summer just waiting for snow.

Other Services: $15 each
